Blackcountry 541

According to a previous owner the block had been rebored in the early 80’s and the car had little or no use since. The rebore was supposedly to +.050” which worried me as the recommended over boring permissible was only +.030”. Because of this I decided that a rebuild was in order for piece of mind if nothing else. It was in fact as I discovered the later not the former. Due to a complication with only one piston I had to replace all 6 and of course new rings were fitted and it goes without saying all new bearings were used. The cylinder head was in remarkable condition and apart from new valves and seals etc was left pretty much alone.

Most of the replacement parts were bought from the two Andy’s , Brookes and Fowler or Ebay.
